About Delhi Technological University (DTU)

Initially established with the name – Delhi Polytechnic, Delhi Technological University (DTU) came into existence in the year 1941 as Delhi Polytechnic which later became Delhi College of Engineering. Project Highlights

Owing to its large student population of over ten thousand and a variety of programs being offered Delhi Technological University faced the daunting task of managing its academic operations. It wanted a UMS that would not only ease out the work of faculty and staff but will also provide better services to the students. They found LSAcademia as the perfect solution that would meet their needs. 

Student’s daily attendance is one area where LSAcademia has really made the life easy for the faculty. They have been marking class attendance using LSAcademia mobile app that uses Bluetooth technology with almost nil manual intervention. The app also has the feature where attendance gets stored in offline mode when the network is down or unavailable and  automatically gets pushed into the database when network is available. Previously with such a huge number of students, manual attendance marking and consolidation used to consume a lot of precious teaching time and was also prone to errors. This Bluetooth attendance marking system has drastically changed this scenario.

LSAcademia has provided the feature of CBCS based self-registration facility to students, including those students who are enrolled in online MOOC courses run by the university. Through this system the students can register for subjects for a particular semester from their portal. The system automatically checks the maximum credits which the student can register in a  semester and guides him/her to complete the registration correctly. The system also restricts students from following any malpractices, like registering extra credits or wrong subjects, which used to happen during manual registration. 

DTU has achieved full automation of the fee collection process through LSAcademia which has been integrated with their SBI payment gateway. Now the students can pay all types of fee online from their portal in a fully secured and effortless manner, without having to visit the accounts department or the bank. This has brought an unprecedented reduction in errors and efforts in the fee collection and reconciliation process.

LSAcademia  has been playing a vital role in streamlining the admission process at DTU. It has handled admissions to over sixteen programs for their two campuses, DTU Main Campus and DTU East Campus, where some programs also involved joint admission process with another university, NSUT Delhi. The system provided end-to-end automation beginning with applicants filling up their forms online, paying the registration fees online, getting shortlisted for counseling and finally paying their 1st semester fee. DTU benefited greatly  from the speed, accuracy and reduced manual efforts delivered by the LSAcademia’s admission module. 

LSAcademia has also provided the automated process to collect data of students for any events happening across the institute. Students have been provided a single form to fill in their details which is collected in a centralized database and shared automatically to the concerned persons. Thus providing a solution to another pain area of DTU that used to consume lot of effort, time and resources.

In a nutshell LSAcademia has helped DTU to move to the next level of automation, ushering in a positive change in the faculty - student interaction and the overall operational ecosystem of the university.
